The Mechanical Testing Laboratory operates an MTS 55 kip universal test machine and a Satec 600 kip universal testing machine. These machines are well-equipped to perform material testing.
MTS 55 kip machine:

- Specimen size: 64 inches tall by 25 inches wide
Satec 600 kip machine:
- Load capacity: 600 kip compression or tension
- Stroke: 12 inches
- Static testing
- Actuator speed: 3 inches per minute
- Specimen size: 10 ft-9 inches tall by 30 inches wide
